Gas Imaging Technology (GIT) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific Advanced Technology (PAT), a California corporation located in Santa Barbara County, California. PAT was founded in 1988 by Michele Hinnrichs for the purpose of researching and developing high technology infrared (IR) systems for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). More recently, PAT has become involved with the Homeland Security Agency.

GIT has an exclusive worldwide license for patented infrared gas imaging products (Sherlock®) that are available to the international market for applications in the oil, gas, chemical and power industries for gas leak imaging, analysis and quantification.
